Astral Foods was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange on 9 April 2001 and is the leading poultry producer in Southern Africa, driven by a focused strategy “to be the best cost-integrated poultry producer. Astral Foods comprises 3 divisions – Agriculture, Nutrition and Commercial.

AGRICULTURE
Broiler genetics; production and sale of day-old chicks and hatching eggs; and breeder/broiler production. Astral has, at any given time, approximately 41 million broilers under its management, with production across 180 agricultural sites.

NUTRITION
Manufacturing of animal feeds in South Africa and Zambia. Astral produces approximately 1.5 million tons of feed annually at 7 strategically located feed mills throughout South Africa and one mill in Zambia, with 59% feed produced allocated to its poultry integrated operations.

COMMERCIAL
Abattoir and further processing operations, sales and distribution of various key poultry brands. The Commercial division processed approximately 6 million broilers per week and processed 529 506 tons of poultry product in 2025 at their 4 broiler processing plants.
